Empowering the Next Generation: DC Celebrates World Environment Day
5th June 2026 Discipleship Centre vibrant communities came together to celebrate World Environment Day with a powerful mission: inspiring our project children to become passionate protectors of our planet. Children from our Kalyanpuri and Madanpur Khadar projects participated wholeheartedly, turning environmental awareness into a day of creativity, expression, and joy.
The energy was electric as the children took Centre stage, channelling their talents into three exciting competitions designed to help them deeply understand how their daily choices can impact the earth.
Creative Expressions for a Greener Tomorrow
The day was packed with meaningful activities where every child found a unique way to share their voice:
- The Drawing Competition: To ensure every child could showcase their vision, the competition was divided into four separate age groups. From vibrant forests to clean oceans, the young artists brought environmental themes to life. One outstanding winner was carefully selected from each of the four groups to receive a special prize.
- The Slogan Writing Competition: Words have power! The children crafted inspiring, catchy slogans aimed at rallying their communities to save resources and reduce waste. One exceptionally impactful slogan writer was chosen as the grand prize winner.
- The Speech Competition: Taking the microphone with immense confidence, our young speakers shared moving thoughts on climate action, planting trees, and reducing plastic use. A single, standout speaker was awarded the top prize for their moving and persuasive speech.
Rewarding Passion and Purpose
The highlight of the event was the prize distribution ceremony. The talented winners from both Kalyanpuri and Madanpur Khadar proudly stepped up to receive their prizes.
Beyond just a reward, these prizes served a deeper purpose: to encourage their brilliant efforts and reinforce the vital message that they have the power to protect our planet. By participating, these children didn’t just win prizes—they walked away with a profound understanding of environmental stewardship and a shared commitment to building a cleaner, greener future.
“We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” Today, the children of Kalyanpuri and Madanpur Khadar proved they are more than ready to look after it.
