A Vision Takes Shape

Nestled within the serene beauty of Lohara village, our new Child and Adolescent Resource Centre is quickly becoming more than just a building, it is becoming a sanctuary for growth, learning, and community transformation. On July 11th, a senior member of our team arrived at the centre to oversee vital renovation work. However, the day quickly blossomed into something much deeper than just fixing walls; it became an unforgettable lesson in nurturing the earth.

Sowing the Seeds of Care

With the backdrop of a changing world, we gathered the children to talk about the vital importance of environment protection. We spoke to them not just as students, but as the future guardians of their beautiful village. We discussed how trees breathe life into our surroundings and why it is our shared duty to protect and multiply the greenery around us.

To turn this lesson into a living memory, we brought a collection of small, vibrant herbs to the centre. The excitement among the children was palpable. They weren’t just watching; they were actively participating in building their own future.

Hands in the Earth

The highlight of the day was watching the children interact directly with nature. In a beautiful display of teamwork and gender equality, two symbolic plantings took place:

• The Girls’ Contribution: Led by one of our bright little girls, a group carefully dug into the soil, gently placing their herb into the earth with focused, tender care.
• The Boys’ Contribution: Equal in enthusiasm, one of our young boys led his peers to plant another herb right beside it, their hands covered in mud and their faces glowing with pride.

As their small hands pressed the soil around the roots, you could see the profound connection forming between the children and the earth.

A Lasting Impression

It was a deeply moving experience for everyone present. The children didn’t just learn how to plant; they understood why it matters. They walked away with the realization that by protecting and increasing the plants, they are not only making their centre beautiful, but they are also creating a healthier, greener environment that will positively impact the entire village of Lohara.

Through these small hands and tiny herbs, a grand vision has been planted—one that will grow alongside our children for generations to come.
