From a Small Village Boy to a Guardian of Society: Sunil’s Journey of Transformation

In 2002, when the Discipleship Centre (DC) Lohara Village Project first opened its doors, a small boy named Sunil walked in. Most parents in the village were illiterate and struggled to see a future beyond daily survival. However, the DC staff walked door-to-door, counseling parents and convincing them that education was the only way to break the cycle of poverty. Sunil’s parents listened, and that choice changed his life forever.

The Foundation of a Dream

From the very beginning, Sunil was a bright, curious child with an eagerness to learn. He never missed a day at the Centre. Along with mastering his school subjects under the careful guidance of the DC staff, Sunil thrived in sports and extra-curricular activities.

More than just academics, the Centre focused on building character. The staff continuously counseled Sunil, instilling strong moral values and teaching him to dream big. It was during his teenage years that a spark ignited within him—he decided he wanted to become a police officer to serve and protect others.

Walking the Extra Mile

Sunil’s dream required immense sacrifice. To fulfill his goals, he would walk kilometers every single day from Lohara village just to get to his training and study points.

When he completed his 12th grade and began preparing for the highly competitive police examinations, the Discipleship Centre stood by him like a rock. Whenever doubt crept in, the DC staff were there to counsel, encourage, and emotionally support him. They refused to let his dream fade.

The Proud Reality

Today, the hard work of a determined boy and the constant prayers and guidance of the Discipleship Centre have borne fruit. Sunil is now a proud Police Constable in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and has been serving honorably for the past 5 years.
